Matters of the Home ("we," "us") is a free weekly email newsletter and website operated by Matters of the Home, LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.
Information you give us. When you subscribe, we collect your email address and the edition you choose (Ocala, The Villages or Central Florida). If you email us, we keep your message and contact details so we can reply.
Information collected automatically. Our newsletter platform records whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked. Our website may collect basic technical details such as your browser type, device, general location (city or region) and the pages you visit.
We use your information to send you the newsletter edition you signed up for, to understand which stories and topics readers find useful so we can improve the newsletter, to answer your questions and messages, and to keep our list healthy, such as removing addresses that bounce.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with companies that help us run the newsletter and website:
Beehiiv, which hosts our newsletter and website and sends our emails. Beehiiv's own privacy policy is at beehiiv.com/privacy.
Affiliate partners and networks, such as impact.com and FlexOffers, which track when you click one of our affiliate links so we can earn a commission (see Cookies below).
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies are small files saved in your browser. Our website and newsletter platform use them to keep the site working and to measure visits. When you click an affiliate link, the company you visit or its network may set a cookie to record that you came from Matters of the Home. That company's own privacy policy then applies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Our website does not currently respond to these signals.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. To see, correct or delete your information, email us at [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days.
Matters of the Home is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has subscribed, email us and we'll remove the address.
We rely on our service providers' security measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Our newsletter and website link to other sites. We aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please review their policies.
If we update this policy, we'll change the effective date above. For important changes, we'll also mention it in the newsletter.
